Past the Wolf Road strip
Colonie has more car lots than anywhere in the Capital Region. That's exactly why it's worth knowing what you're comparing.

Fogg's Automotive serves Colonie and Latham, NY from 642 Saratoga Rd in Glenville — about 12 miles, roughly 20 minutes via Route 5 or the Thruway. Colonie is the Capital Region's largest suburb and its densest concentration of car dealerships, along Wolf Road and Central Avenue. Every vehicle we retail is reconditioned to a 151-point standard with a free CARFAX report, and qualifying vehicles under 85,000 miles carry the Fogg's For Life lifetime engine limited warranty. Fogg's is a technician-owned dealership, family-run since 1955: what we're willing to put on the lot is judged against our own service shop's standard, not against what's easy to sell — which is why every car here is reconditioned before it's listed.
Route 5 west through Colonie into Schenectady, over the Mohawk into Scotia, then north on Route 50. Or the Thruway to I-890 if you would rather not sit at the lights on Central.

Updated daily — every vehicle reconditioned before it was listed.
Wolf Road is the busiest commercial corridor in the Albany area and Central Avenue is lined with lots. If you live in Colonie you can walk into a dozen dealerships without leaving the town, which makes the question here different from anywhere else we serve: not "who is nearby", but "what am I actually comparing".
The honest comparison is reconditioning. Most used inventory is bought at auction, cleaned, and priced. Ours goes through a 151-point process in our own shop before it is listed, which is why we are willing to put a lifetime engine limited warranty on qualifying vehicles. That is the difference the sticker does not show, and it is worth twenty minutes to look at directly.
Most of what is on Wolf Road belongs to a franchise group. We have been family-owned on the same road since 1955, which changes the incentives: there is no manufacturer quota to hit at the end of a month, and no reason to move a car we would not stand behind. It also means the person who sells you a car is likely to still be here when you come back.
About 12 miles — roughly 20 minutes via Route 5 through Schenectady and north on Route 50, or the Thruway to I-890 if traffic on Central Avenue is heavy.
Because most of those lots sell what they bought at auction after a clean-up. Every vehicle here goes through a 151-point reconditioning process in our own 28,000 square foot shop first, which is why qualifying vehicles carry a lifetime engine limited warranty. If that does not matter to you, the closer lot is the right answer.
Yes. We service all makes and models for retail and fleet customers, whether or not the vehicle came from us.
